GOOD MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS
Helping young minds grow stronger

The children’s well-being workshops will be fun, interactive sessions designed to help children understand emotions, build confidence, develop resilience and learn healthy ways to manage worries and big feelings. Through age-appropriate pursuits (e.g. FreePlay, group games, creative activities, mindfulness exercises, strolls in the local countryside etc.), children will develop important emotional well-being skills in a safe and supportive environment with NO phones and NO tech.

The Plan 

In the mornings, we will go outside in nature (i.e. in local woods, meadows & streams etc) & do gentle activities (free play, games, mindfulness exercises). I have four different routes with different experiences along the way (streams, swings, trees to climb etc etc) planned for each day of the week. We might even try to have lunch outdoors too (let’s see where life takes us).

 

In the afternoons, back in our Yurt & Garden we may TRY to express/understand the feelings/sensations that they felt when outdoors. This could be done by painting, creating, dance/movement, sand play etc etc. It will be their choice. This is to try to help the children understand what makes them happy/content and what triggers less comfortable feelings BUT also how nature affects them. Conversation/talk is only likely to be encouraged with older children 10+.

 

The day of course will be loosely held by me (as ever) as I am eager to respond to the unexpected moments that children have a tendency to throw my way.  

 

I love working with small groups of children in nature. Somehow giving them the space & freedom to be children makes my heart sing. Needless to say don’t expect your children to return home clean.

 

 

For 4 weeks in the summer holidays, I will be running, 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) from 10am to 3pm *

We are based in leafy Sarratt in our colourful, gorgeous Yurt OR outside in our large, safe garden OR outside in the local countryside. 

  • w/c 3rd August - Ages 6 to 7 **

  • w/c 10th August - Ages 8 to 9 **

  • w/c 17th August - Ages 10 to 11 **

  • w/c 24th August - Ages 12 to 13 **

The workshops will be purposefully small & intimate (a maximum of 6 children). They will combine :

  • Outdoors / Nature​

  • Play

  • Therapeutic work (i.e. helping children better understand their emotions)

£40 a day per child or £140 for four days
