CANCELLATION POLICY FOR

ONE TO ONE SESSIONS

Your counselling appointment is reserved specifically for you.

Regular attendance helps you to maintain continuity in our therapeutic work.

Cancellations with more than 24 hours' notice;
No cancellation fee will be charged for.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice; The full session fee will be payable.

Non-attendance; If you do not attend your scheduled appointment and have not contacted me in advance, the full session fee will be payable.

The cancellation fee reflects the appointment time that has been reserved exclusively for you and which, with less than 24 hours' notice, I am unlikely to be able to offer to another client.

In exceptional circumstances, such as an emergency or unforeseen situation, I may waive or reduce the cancellation fee at my discretion.

Where possible, please give as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

By booking an appointment, you are agreeing to these cancellation terms.

CANCELLATION POLICY
FOR GOOD MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS

Our workshops have a maximum of six children, meaning that each booking represents a significant proportion of the available places.

Once a booking is confirmed and payment has been received, a place is reserved exclusively for your child and will no longer be offered to another family.

For this reason, the following cancellation policy applies:

Cancellations more than 28 days before the workshop;

A 50% refund of the booking fee will be provided.

Cancellations 28 days or less before the workshop;

Bookings are non-refundable.

Alternative dates.

Where possible, I may offer an alternative workshop date instead of a refund. Alternative dates are subject to availability and are offered entirely at our discretion.

Illness or change of circumstances.

Unfortunately, refunds cannot normally be provided due to illness, changes in personal circumstances, holidays, travel arrangements or other reasons preventing attendance. I will always try to be helpful where circumstances allow, but any alternative arrangement is discretionary.

Filling your cancelled place.

I will of course try to fill your cancelled place. If I am successful, I may, at my discretion, offer a refund less any reasonable administration or costs incurred. Please note that finding a replacement cannot be guaranteed, and simply re-advertising a cancelled place does not guarantee that it will be filled.

By completing your booking and making payment, you confirm that you have understood and accepted this Cancellation Policy.

Cancellation by me.

If I have to cancel a workshop, you will be offered either:

  • a transfer to an alternative suitable date; or

  • a full refund of the booking fee.

ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

I dearly want everyone who uses my counselling service to feel welcome, respected and comfortable. I willing make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual accessibility needs and will discuss any requirements with you before your first appointment.

THE GARDEN & YURT

Accessibility is not limited to physical access. If you have any additional needs relating to:
  • mobility;
  • hearing or vision;
  • neurodiversity;
  • communication;
  • sensory sensitivities;
  • anxiety about the environment; or
  • any other accessibility requirement,
Please feel able to discuss these with me. I will work with you to identify reasonable adjustments wherever possible.

BEFORE BOOKING YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

ACCESSIBILITY & INDIVIDUAL NEEDS

Before your first appointment, I encourage you to tell me about any accessibility requirements before attending your first session. This allows me to discuss the environment with you and consider whether the Yurt is an appropriate and comfortable setting for your counselling.
If I am unable to provide a suitable adjustment within the current setting, I will discuss this with you openly and, where appropriate, explore alternative arrangements.
My aim is to provide a warm, safe and inclusive counselling environment while being honest about the physical limitations of our garden and yurt setting.

Our counselling room is situated in a Yurt within a private garden. Accessing the Yurt currently involves:

  • Walking through the garden across an outdoor surface (a path made of large rectangle stepping stones made of Yorkshire Stone) which may be uneven or affected by weather.

  • Two gentle, long steps leading up to the Yurt entrance.

  • A low doorway with a high threshold, which may require visitors to lower their head when entering whilst stepping over the high door sill.

Unfortunately, the current layout means that the counselling room is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for people who have significant difficulty with steps, balance or mobility. If you have any concerns about accessing the yurt, please contact me before your appointment so that I can discuss your individual needs and whether alternative arrangements may be possible.

Toilet Facilities

An outside toilet is available for clients. There is one step leading up to the toilet. Please let me know if you have any mobility or accessibility requirements relating to the toilet facilities.

Parking

We have private parking on a gravel drive accessed via an automatic gate close to the counselling room. This provides easy access to the garden and means clients do not need to park on the road. If you have particular parking requirements, please let me know in advance and I will do my best to assist.
